Dick Pike
Lead Vocalist/Lead Guitar
Taylor Creek Band, Louisville KY
Dick is a creative musician, talented singer and guitar player. He started taking guitar lessons at the age of 10. He played in local bands in the Louisville, Ky. area until he married in 1971 when he and his wife Linda started a family.
He sold all his music equipment and his precious Ebony 1968 Custom Les Paul Fretless Wonder guitar. He gave up the guitar and singing for 45 years. All the kids had moved out and in 2016 his wife suggested he start playing again.
Today, 15 guitars later he is fortunate to be in the Taylor Creek Band. It all happened when Dick was calling a drummer friend of his and unaware he had dialed the wrong number. He began chatting with someone he thought he knew. He said later “You know, Terry and I talked several minutes and we finally asked “who is this”? It was Terry Sanders (Taylor Creek’s drummer). Their friendship has grown dramatically since that call. Dick feels blessed to have met Terry and the others.
Dick is 72 and does the vocals and plays the guitar. Dick feels it is so nice to have the guys in the band as friends, to do something he really enjoys and to have such a great group of folks that show up and support the band at their performances.
